Introduction
novaTopFlex has been largely subject to mislabeling and moral panic(s) throughout the entirety of the year 2025. Whether based on being mislabeled for artificial intelligence (AI) in June, having social connections frequently misclassified, or even being mistaken for having an exchange student, thus having the role of a host, mislabeling has always impacted the novaTop Identity both personally and professionally. However, there are always historical reasons for each and every mislabel.
Reasons for the Mislabeling
When having social connections misclassified, especially an impact in banquet culture where coupledom is implied as a societal default, the mislabeling involved is largely a result of heteronormativity, amatonormativity, cisnormativity, mononormativity, and even motonormativity. While each of the above concepts can provide massive impacts regarding the standard situation, heteronormativity in particular requires coupledom to exist for the entirety of society, even in spite of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer/questioning, intersex, and aroace communities. Since not everybody complies with traditional gender roles, especially to the fullest of the gender role extents, heteronormativity results in constant mislabeling for interactions, especially with the “opposite” sex. Amatonormativity assumes romantic feelings, even when such feelings have never been caught nor otherwise existed. Such feelings result in the mainstream warning that people can catch feelings, a traditional romantic outcome related to the traditional “Romeo and Juliet” play.
The roles of cisnormativity, mononormativity, and motonormativity cannot be dismissed regarding the social mislabeling tactics and tendencies, either. However, the specific roles of each concept can also be easily spliced apart. Cisnormativity assumes everyone is cisgender, again regarding appearances and gender roles; mononormativity and moronormativity assume monogamy in all interactions with the “opposite” sex and the dominance of motor vehicles privatizing non-normative relationships.
Beyond the social misclassification and mislabeling, artificial intelligence (AI) also represents a classification for which novaTopFlex has been mislabeled, albeit under different terms. Within the scope of artificial intelligence (AI), the mislabeling in question has been particularly heavily—and highly—identified based on the formality and concision represented on the Discord and other chats online. When mistaken for a host family member, the assumption was that the guest was an exchange student.
