Hype for the Future 21B: Higher Education in the Pioneer Valley

The Five Colleges Consortium is located in Hampshire County and consists of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, Smith, and UMass Amherst. Within Hampden County is College of Our Lady of the Elms, Western New England University, Springfield College, American International College, Bay Path University, and Westfield State University. Westfield State University is part of the State University System of Massachusetts, along with Bridgewater, Fitchburg, Framingham, Salem, and Worcester elsewhere. UMass Amherst is part of the University of Massachusetts system and serves as the flagship campus, though the system also contains campuses in Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell, and online (from Aliso Viejo, California).
