Overview
Pike County, Ohio, is located in the south-central portion of the State of Ohio and uses Waverly as the county seat. However, Piketon to the south is the location of the Pike County Fairgrounds and is occasionally more associated with the county than Waverly. Historically, perhaps the most important portion of the history of Pike County, Ohio, was the Pike Monthly Meeting, associated with Quaker societies often from the Philadelphia area and the immediate vicinity, including communities such as Cecil County, Maryland, or New Castle County, Delaware.
