Hype for the Future 13/284: Which Side of the James River are the Plantations?

Most of the historic plantation sites open to the general public are located either along the north side of the James River or within the Northern Neck region of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Regarding the James River, the plantations are often associated with notable families of the Commonwealth; however, Northern Neck families of similar importance include the Washington and Lee family lines in particular, as well as potentially the Monroe family.
