Located in the extreme southwestern portion of Ohio, across the Ohio River from the mouth of the Licking (thus the historical name, Losantiville), Cincinnati is largely determined by heavy German immigration in multiple waves. Traditionally, Cincinnati is renowned for the traditional seven hills of the city, thus the nickname, “City of Seven Hills.” Also, the traditional neighborhoods are renowned for unique cultural identities and even for preserved historical sites in the city and surrounding area(s). Walnut Hills, for instance, is notable for the Krohn Conservatory, while Price Hill is renowned for historical houses of regional interest. Over-the-Rhine is most famous for Findlay Market, and additional sites are also located throughout the city and surrounding area.
