geoTopFlex vs futoTopFlex
In the past, novaTopFlex had identified numerous travel and cultural opportunities under the banner “futoTopFlex.” In the near future, the novaTop Identity shall research potential opportunities to identify different “catchment area” zones for different major and perhaps even minor events in the community. When referring to “catchment areas” for different types of events, applications utilizing QGIS and/or OpenStreetMap data shall be redesignated geoTop content and shall rescind the futoTop (or futaTop) designation as a consequence.
Catchment Areas?
Technically, the term “catchment area” is a concept and refers to geographic regions of attendance of publicly-accessible events. The concept of a “catchment area” is often distinct from other concepts, such as legal and administrative boundaries that are often set harder. Therefore, while attendance zones and districts can–and often do–have boundaries, catchment areas often transcend such boundaries (with the most obvious of exceptions being areas along international border zones).
