If I could build my own reading and writing space(s), then I would attempt to find opportunities that may be more readily available for the spaces. Unfortunately, zoning laws and the dreaded homeowner associations alike each restrict threats to property values, yet the concept of property values is inherently part of the market system of capitalism. While capitalism is not determined by markets but rather by the profit motive, which is often inherently unethical, I believe that anticapitalist ideals should allow for the following spaces of interest:
- The room should be eight feet in length, width, and height–effectively a cube.
- Ideally, there should be two (2) separate entrances, one interior and one exterior. However, under ideal circumstances I would not allow my exterior entrance to be my primary entrance.
- My geographic preference regarding my reading and writing space, housing, and shelter would be a location tucked away in the Berkshires within relatively close proximity to Great Barrington, Massachusetts, in any direction.
