Introduction
The Town of Farmington is the county seat of Franklin County, Maine, located in the southern portion of the county as the northern portion along the border with Québec, Canada, is very sparsely populated as with many other counties bordering Québec in the vicinity. Farmington is home to the University of Maine at Farmington, though the main campus is actually located in Orono in Penobscot County.
Iconic Sites
The Nordica House Museum is located on the northern outskirts of the Farmington area, while the central village zone is home to the North Church, the Octagon House, and the Titcomb House Museum—all along High Street perpendicular to Route 43. The Town of Farmington is also traversed from north to south by way of Route 27.
