Introduction
The Town of New Harmony is situated along the lower Wabash River in Posey County, accessible from the City of Mount Vernon along the Ohio River via State Road 69.
Attractions
The Town of New Harmony is home to a number of tourist attractions, including the nearby Harmonie State Park and exhibits on the cultural and historical significance of the area. Traditionally, New Harmony was the site of two (2) distinct early American Utopian communities, settled by the Germans whom had first landed in Pennsylvania around the 1820s.
