Introduction
While novaTopFlex has largely identified the distinctive features of Butler County, Ohio, particularly in the suburban areas associated with Cincinnati (namely Hamilton, Fairfield, Liberty Township, West Chester Township, Monroe, Middletown, and Trenton) and the select surrounding areas immediately west of the Great Miami River, new research interests have been identified to extend further west into the county. Though the western side of the county, facing the Indiana state line directly, is a more rural area, the area is home to a number of smaller communities, including Ross, McGonigle, Okeana, Shandon, and Alert, while the northern areas include such communities as New Miami, Seven Mile, Somerville, and Jacksonburg, in addition to the City of Oxford in the northwestern portion of the county.
West Butler County
The purpose of this post is to cover the western areas of Butler County, Ohio, in particular the more rural areas of West Butler. Within the rural area of Butler County, Ohio, just a few local attractions are of regional significance, most notably the Salty Dog Museum of Shandon, Ohio.
