Introduction
United States Route 127 is an auxiliary highway in the United States Numbered Highway System, related to Route 27, which the highway crosses in Cincinnati and meets again in Chattanooga. North of Cincinnati, most of the route is east of Route 27, while further south, the route is generally further west. Within the State of Ohio, the westernmost counties of the State of Ohio, each bordering Indiana, are covered by Route 127.
Communities
Every county seat for the westernmost Ohio counties, with the exception of Defiance, is covered by the route. At the northern end of the State of Ohio, Route 127 also skirts the northwestern corner of Fulton County immediately south of Michigan, while further south, a total of nine (9) other counties are served by the route.
Further south within the State of Ohio, Route 127 covers the communities of Bryan, Sherwood, Paulding, Van Wert, Celina, Greenville, Eaton, Hamilton, and Cincinnati. Smaller communities are also covered throughout the route; however, the City of Defiance is located further east and away from the primary highway.
