Harriet Tubman, perhaps among the best-known historical figures associated with the Underground Railroad, is largely connected to the area around Cambridge, Maryland, and throughout Wicomico and surrounding counties. Located along the Eastern Shore, east of the Chesapeake Bay, the community around Cambridge is most highly renowned for the historical sites of Harriet Tubman and her legacy.
