Within the State of Vermont and the western edge of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is very fertile ground for sociocultural experiments and nontraditional belief systems and cultural values and roles, including, but not limited to, opportunities to break free from wage dependency, provide for an egalitarian worldview, and even promote activism and activist scenes and circles. While most of the United States of America as the nation is currently known is dominated by hypercapitalist and hyperindividualist motives, the potential for Vermont and Western Massachusetts to sway the societal opinion shall not be ignored. With the existing historical context and footprint of Vermont and the Berkshires alike, each region can provide for unique cultural perspectives that promote degrowth, ecologism, anarchism, intersectional feminism, post-Marxism, solarpunk, and more.
