Frank Lloyd Wright was a very influential architect and perhaps amongst the most significant of architectural icons in the history of the field. Born in Richland Center, Wisconsin, his studio would be located at Taliesin nearer Spring Green, Wisconsin, though on the opposite side of the Wisconsin River. Since the Taliesin estate is opposite the Wisconsin River, the place is located within the Town of Wyoming, in Iowa County. Within the entire region, however, is the Driftless Area, which includes, but is not limited to, the southwestern portion of the State of Wisconsin. Since the Taliesin estate was developed within the Driftless Area, Wright would develop the estate using materials specifically designed to match the regional topography. Overall, the goal of the Taliesin estate was to be one and the same with the apex of the hill.
